ANNEX I
ETIQUETTE AND CODE OF CONDUCT
(BYE-LAW)
1.Introduction
Every member of IGC shall be equal and subject to:
(a) The Club Constitution, Rules and Bye-Laws
(b) The Club Etiquette and Code of Conduct and
(c) Operate within the Accounting system of the club.
2. General
(a) It is expected that members will ensure a friendly and harmonious relationship with other members of the Club. Members' behaviour on the course, in the Club house and within the Club premises should portray the Club members as disciplined and respectable ladies and gentlemen.
3. Etiquette on the Course
(a)The “Etiquette of Golf' as published in the ‘Rules of Golf must be observed at all times. Itis the duty of all members to be conversant with the provisions as contained therein.
(b) Fraternal greeting among fellow golfers particularly across fairways must be at the lowest voice level. The raising of hats, caps, visors or hands in greeting on the course is sufficient and recommended
(c) On no account should a player entertain more and this should not be detrimental to the pace of the game especially in a competition.
(d) Reports of any misbehaviour by a fellow golfer(p)made to any member of the Management Committee on return to the Club House, but never on the course.
(e) Members should avoid loud verbal reprimands or abuses during the course of play, also in the Club House and within the Club's premises.
(f) There should be no offensive language, inappropriate humour and such like gestures, whether directed at fellow golfers, staff, caddies or guests within the Club premises.
(g) Members should practise only in areas designated for that purpose. Practicing on Tee Boxes is an offence, save in the process of playing around.
Non-handicap players are not allowed on the (4) course except accompanied by a handicapped player or a golf professional.
(i) Past Captains and members of current Management committee are ombudsmen on the Golf course.
4.Conduct in the Club House
(a) Club House shall not be used for non-Golf related functions.
(b) Members domestic or commercial staff not be permitted in the Club house and in the reception.
(c) No offensive weapon shall be permitted in the Club house.
(d) No animal is permitted in the Club house.
(e) A decent mode of dressing shall be maintained in the Club house.
(f) 'No Spikes” signs wherever displayed, must be observed.
(g) Discussions among groups of members should be kept at a low voice as not to disturb others.
(h) There shall be no discrimination on grounds of race, colour, tribe, culture and religion and no special grouping whatsoever, whether professional or cultural is allowed to interfere with the Club's main principle of equality of all members.
(i) Members are expected to cooperate with any security arrangements put in place for the safety of life and property of the Club and its members.
(j) There shall be no advertisement, sales of any item what so ever within the club premises without the approval of the Management committee.
(k) Eating shall be restricted to the Restaurant and not allowed at the Bar.
(l) The tariff or price for food and drink, green fees and membership fees shall be displayed in the Club house. Charges will be subject to change without notice but only with the approval of the Management Committee.
(m) Parents of young children are requested to members and guests. Minors are not permitted in the clubhouse after 8p.m
(n) Member's children are not permitted to sit at the Bar
(0) Members are requested to carry their membership cards whilst on the Club premises and should produce them on request to authorized checkers. Similarly, guests should also hold on to their ticket whilst in the club house.
(p) Golf equipment either in unit or bag is not permitted in Bar and Restaurant.
(q) Smoking is prohibited in the bar lounge and the cool room.
(r) The Club and its Management Committee does not accept liability for loss or damage to members' or visitors' property anywhere on the Club's premises.
5. Use of Club by Non-Members
(i) A member introducing a guest shall on each occasion enter the Guest's name in the Visitors Book and sign the Entry.
(ii) No Guests will be allowed into the Club House unless accompanied or invited by a member who must comply as in (i) above; and who must pay a charge as maybe determined by the Committe from time to time.
(iii) A member shall be responsible for the conduct of the Guests introduced by him/her.
(iv) Maximum number of Guests that a member can sign for and bring into the club house at a time is five.
(v) A 'list of
the Clubs with which reciprocal arrangement have been made from time to time will
be displayed on the Notice Board. Proven members of such Clubs may enjoy the
use of the Club's facility under the reciprocal arrangement.
